Smoking is a habit that many people find unattractive. For some, smoking is a dealbreaker when it comes to finding love. Recently, a woman took to social media to admit she is embarrassed by her partner’s bad habits and poor hygiene. We have the whole story right here.
The Story
The woman admitted that when she and her partner first got together a year ago, she didn’t mind that he was a smoker. The Mirror reports that one of her exes used to smoke, and she didn’t mind it because of his “impeccable oral hygiene.”
She revealed that her current boyfriend’s lousy habit has become unbearable due to his lack of dental hygiene. She posted about it on Mumsnet, and this is what she had to say, “I absolutely hate smoking now. He stinks all the time. I refuse to kiss him. I hate being in the car with him when he talks. I don’t mind smokers’ breath it’s the fact he doesn’t clean his teeth/mouth well enough and it becomes horrendous.”
She went on to say that her boyfriend doesn’t drink water and likes to consume “full fat drinks” which makes his breath smell even worse! She said, “He’s 28 with only 4 back teeth and are all black and tiny. He constantly gets fillings and toothache, I’ve never known of teeth to be tiny especially back teeth.”
He Doesn’t Understand
She mentioned that her boyfriend doesn’t understand why she “won’t kiss him” anymore. “So many times his oral hygiene isn’t good enough,” she stated.
Mortified, the woman expressed that his toothbrush hasn’t moved from the position he’d left it in because he doesn’t brush his teeth. She went on to say that she was beyond embarrassed by his poor dental hygiene.
According to her, “his ex was the same.” She smoked all the time and had black teeth, just like him.
For fear of judgment, she refuses to ask her friends for advice, which is why she has decided to post on Mumsnet instead. “I can’t stand it and I dunno what to do”, she said.
The Comments
The post quickly caught the attention of other users on Mumsnet, and this was what they had to say. In the comments, people suggested that she end the relationship. One person wrote, “Just dump him, sounds gross. Don’t you want a partner that you’re attracted to and want to kiss? I wouldn’t date a smoker.”
Another comment read, “Yes well that obviously sounds extremely gross. If you can’t cope with that then get rid of him. I would (well I probably wouldn’t have got with him to start off. His teeth can’t have been good from the first day you met him).”
Another comment said, “This would be an absolute deal breaker for me. I would also assume this lack of both self-care and respect for you would filter into every other aspect of his and your lives – get out now while you have relatively few ties!”
